Inizia a studiare da autodidatta ritmi e strumenti a percussione dell’area Afro-Cubana e Brasiliana.

Frequenta i corsi specializzati della DRUMMER’S COLLECTIVE di NEW YORK, studiando con insegnanti quali Frankie Malabe (Peter Erskine group) e Cyro Baptista (David Byrne, Paul Simon).

Entra a far parte della band del cantautore Luca Carboni, con il quale effettua diverse tournée in Italia e all’estero.

Partecipa alla realizzazione delle musiche sullo spot “I giovani e le discoteche” trasmesso su Videomusic e Rai Tre.

Partecipa al “Festival del Ritmo e delle Percussioni” esibendosi insieme ai batteristi Daniele Tedeschi (Vasco Rossi) e Walter Calloni (Lucio Battisti, Premiata Forneria Marconi).

Con il gruppo “Canto e Discanto” risulta tra i vincitori del Premio Recanati delle Nuove Tendenze delle Musica d’autore  trasmesso su Rai Due.

Ha partecipato alle incisioni  in oltre 50 dischi.

E’ stato finalista al concorso internazionale sulle percussioni “Perc Fest 2000” insieme a Roberto Rossi, con il quale, unitamente a Felice Del Gaudio, ha pubblicato un metodo edito dalla BMG Ricordi: “La Sezione Ritmica Brasiliana” (comprensivo di CD).

Dal 1997 dirige e coordina l’Accademia Do Ritmo Afroeira, una delle più accreditate “Scuole di Samba” in Italia, con cui ha inciso due CD: Afroeira Live (2003) e Tambores (2007).
